Walter Murch’s Workflow

Murch on editing Hemingway & Gellhorn

Walter Murch is one of the granddaddy’s of film editing and is always well worth a read whenever he’s interviewed. Oliver Peter’s has a great article on Murch’s workflow for his lastest film Hemingway & Gellhorn which he cut on FCP7. There’s plenty of detail on Walter’s favourite workflow which usual includes interaction with FileMaker Pro via XML. Peter’s also includes a link to a similar article (less tech detail) on NY Times.
