Editing lessons from The Vampire Diaries
Nancy Forner has written a great article over on Creative Cow with her thoughts on the art and craft of turning 40 hours of dailies into 42 minutes of finished television. As an episodic TV editor she has worked on Law & Order SVU and A Gifted Man. I have to confess I’ve not seen any of those shows but what Nancy does well is communicate the ins and outs of creating the final edit, maintaining the drama whilst also fitting the show to the audience.
