Gotcha: Importing Layered Photoshop Files into FCP7

I was trying to bring in some graphics into FCP7 as a layered photoshop file so I could easily animate the different layers separately. But for some reason the PSD files were all importing as flattened images.

After a quick google I learnt that FCP can’t read any ‘non-rasterised or vector layers’ in your photoshop files and was therefore bringing it in as a flattened image. So the simple solution is to save as and rasterise your layers.
