Cinema Editor Magazine has an interesting article on the rise of digital dailies and the blurring of the line between production and editorial as a greater number of ‘post-production’ decisions are made on or ‘near’ set.
Duck Grossberg works as a DIT, on-set colorist and HD workflow consultant on some big films (Real Steal, The Life of Pi) handling everything from backing up camera cards to performing colour grades on the set. What does that make him? An edit assistant? A colorist? Or DIT? An interesting read.
